Position: Camp Counselor

Context

This 2017 summer, Golden Path Academics Vietnam is launching summer camps that strive to provide students with even more opportunities to gain knowledge and soft skills that they would not otherwise gain in a Vietnamese classroom. The summer camps will be held at several locations in Vietnam and will consist of both overnight and day-camps. Counselors will be assigned to work at a camp depending on vacancy and availability.

Primary function:                     In this role you will work alongside Golden Path Academics staff to run activities and excursions for a group of students. You will gain valuable leadership experience as a counselor for children and teens, and will also have the option of staying overnight to supervise full-time throughout the course of theprogram.

What will your main duties and responsibilitiesbe?

Your key tasks will consist of, but not be limitedto:

·         Serving as a positive role model for youth.

·         Using your own knowledge and experience to develop activities to teach students the skills they need to prepare to live and study abroad.

·         Running a variety of small and large group activities for students, encouraging student participation, and providing information to students regarding activities.

·         Attending a training and planning week before the camp session begins.

·         Assisting in maintaining program records including incident reports and attendance.

·         Taking responsibility for the safety of students and reporting any issues or problems to the Camp Director.

·         Dealing with problems and emergency situations should they arise.

·         Attending scheduled meetings throughout the program.

·         Performing other duties as assigned.

Logistic staff will be assigned to work at a camp depending on vacancy and availability.

·         Attending a training and planning week before the camp session begins.

·         Dealing with problems and emergency situations should they arise.

·         Attending scheduled meetings throughout the program.

·         Performing other duties as assigned.

Chương trình trại hè tại Mỹ sẽ kéo dài sáu tuần (19/6 – 2/8/2016) tại Saint Paul, Minnesota, Mỹ dành riêng cho trẻ em lớn hơn 10 tuổi từ mọi nơi trên thế giới. 1.      Yêu cầu công việc:

-          Thời gian trại diễn ra: 18/6 – 1/8/2016

-          Làm việc với: học sinh từ độ tuổi: 11 – 17 tuổi

-          Tham gia tất cả các buổi tập dượt, tổng diễn chương trình để hỗ trợ các em nhỏ tham gia trại hè.

-          Nếu có thể, tham gia dẫn dắt các bài tập khởi động trước mỗi buổi học.

-          Hỗ trợ đội biểu diễn trong các công việc liên quan tới: phục trang, âm thanh, sân khấu, chuẩn bị chương trình…

-          Giúp đỡ các bạn trại viên hòa nhập và hiểu biết hơn về các nền văn hóa khác nhau trên thế giới.

-          Hỗ trợ nhân viên quản trại và quản lý các trại viên trong cuộc sống hàng ngày như: ăn uống, giặt giũ, dọn dẹp, tham gia các hoạt động trò chơi, thể thao, …

2.      Đối tượng tuyển:

-          Độ tuổi 21 trở lên, là công dân Việt Nam

-          Có khả năng giao tiếp tiếng Anh thành thạo

-          Có niềm yêu thích trẻ em, các hoạt động đội, nhóm

-          Mong muốn được trau dồi kinh nghiệm lãnh đạo cho bản thân

-          Nhiệt huyết, vui vẻ, tự tin, ưu tiên ứng viên có kinh nghiệm đi nước ngoài

-          Được tham gia huấn luyện, du lịch tham quan các địa điểm du lịch tại bang Minnesota, Mỹ cùng các trại viên.

-          Nhận giấy chứng nhận của trại hè Songs of Hope (thuộc tổ chức Sounds of Hope, Mỹ)

-          Trực tiếp làm việc với các giáo viên, nhân viên nước ngoài giàu kinh nghiệm, chuyên nghiệp; được làm việc trong môi trường quốc tế.

-          Rèn luyện và nâng cao các kĩ năng mềm (kĩ năng làm việc nhóm, tổ chức sự kiện, khả năng lãnh đạo)

-          Kết giao thêm nhiều bạn mới từ Việt Nam và nhiều quốc gia khác trên thế giới.

Title: Talent Development Coach

Company Overview

Golden Path Academics Vietnam (GPA Vietnam) aims to expand higher education opportunities for Vietnamese students and professionals to study abroad by equipping them with the necessary skills to succeed. It also provides information and assistance to help Vietnamese students plan for and pursue college overseas. In addition, GPA Vietnam partners with institutions and education companies to offer international youth and adult learners access to third-party online courses and non-degree programs to improve their language, test prep, academic and professional skills.

Position Summary

The Talent Development Coach is an important member of the GPA Vietnam team. The Coach will work one-on-one with students who wish to prepare to study abroad on wide-ranging topics to ensure a well-rounded and comprehensive application. This early preparation will help Vietnamese students explore themselves, realize their potential and work towards achieving their dreams. This is a part-time position which requires a commitment of 2-3 hours per month per student and that the counselor is responsive to the students and their parents' needs. The length is dependent on the student’s contract, ranging from 1 to 3 years.

The incumbent will perform the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Get to know the student’s academic background, past and current activities, interests and work with the student to come up with a detailed plan for the summer, semester or school year
  • Meet with the student monthly in person for an hour at GPA office or online via our teaching platform
  • Between the monthly meetings, the counselor will stay in touch with the student to check up on the progress of the assignments
  • Coordinate with the student’s Academic Advisor and GPA English for a thorough studying plan for English, SAT/ACT, or IETLS/ TOEFL for the student
  • Pay close attention to the student’s attendance and progress in each class at GPA as well as classes that the students take elsewhere
  • Respond to inquiries from students and their parents within 24 hours
  • Save all of the students' works and commented drafts on GPA’s Dropbox
  • Update the Session Notes for each meeting with each student in GPA’s Dropbox

Expected Outputs

  • Complete a comprehensive plan with the student after the initial meeting regarding academic performance, English level and/or standardized test study plan, extra-curricular activities with SMART goals for the semester or summer vacation that the student works with the counselor
  • Ensure that the students complete assignments and reach his/her goals
  • Ensure that GPA has current information in order to keep parents’ informed on the students’ progress and achievements.
  • Students and families are satisfied with the service provided

Qualifications

  • Minimum a bachelor’s degree from a reputable U.S. university
  • Must be residing in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
  • Excellent English writing and communication skills
  • Good time and deadline management skills
  • Confident, open-minded and friendly
  • Able to adapt your teaching style to students

PROGRAM DIRECTOR, OUTDOOR LEADERSHIP CAMP

 

This fall, Golden Path Academics Vietnam JSC is launching an outdoor leadership camp that strives to provide students with opportunities to gain knowledge and skills that they would not otherwise gain in a Vietnamese classroom. The outdoor leadership camp will feature two days of fun outdoor educational activities and will allow students to camp overnight. This is a personal development program developed and run by GPA with a focus on wilderness expeditions and outdoor leadership training. The purpose of the program is to provide Vietnamese students with experience-based educational opportunities to develop knowledge about nature, an appreciation for the environment and important skills for future successes in life and at work.

1.     JOB TITLE: Program Director, Outdoor Leadership Camp

2.     JOB TYPE: Short-term, paid

3.     JOB OBJECTIVE:

o   The Program Director assists the GPA management team to develop the curriculum and lesson plans for the two-day camp to achieve the learning outcomes aimed for the program.

o   The Program Director also directs the recruitment and training of Camp Leaders and Counselors.

o   The Program Director may lead the camp or oversees the implementation of the camps.

o   He/she also coordinates with the Logistics and Sales & Marketing Team in all activities related to the implementation of the camp.

4.     WORK LOCATION: Hanoi, Vietnam

5.     QUALIFICATIONS:

          Required:

·        Knowledge of camp curricula and particularly well-versed in practicing and teaching outdoor leadership models

  • Experience in student affairs preferably in the area of student program and activity development.
  • Experience with secondary and high school students is also preferred.

Mùa hè 2016, Golden Path Academics Việt Nam (GPA) sẽ tổ chức chương trình trại hè quốc tế dành cho học sinh với mục đích cung cấp cho các em cơ hội học được những kiến ​​thức và kỹ năng mềm mà các em không được học qua sách vở hay những buổi học lý thuyết tại trường lớp. Các em học sinh sẽ được trải nghiệm những ngày hè đầy thú vị, tham gia vào các hoạt động lý thú và bổ ích, ngoài ra các em cũng sẽ có cơ hội ở lại trại vào ban đêm để có được những trải nghiệm độc đáo và khó quên.

•Mức lương:

Dẫn chương trình (MC):2,000,000 – 5,000,000 VND/ trại (tùy theo kinh nghiệm và khả năng)

Nhân viên Hậu cần:2,000,000 VND/ trại nội trú, 1,500,000 VND/ trại bán trú.

•Lưu ý: Ứng viên có thể đăng ký tham gia từ 1 – 2 trại. Ứng viên phải tự chi trả chi phí đi lại, GPA chỉ hỗ trợ chi phí ăn uống và nơi ở trong thời gian diễn ra trại hè.

 

Những nhiệm vụ và trách nhiệm chính của bạn sẽ là gì?

Nhiệm vụ chính của bạn sẽ bao gồm, nhưng không giới hạn trong các nội dung sau:

Vị trí Dẫn chương trình (MC):

• Dẫn chương trình trong các hoạt động diễn ra tại trại hè.

• Tương tác và giao lưu với khán giả.

• Hỗ trợ và phối hợp cùng các người dẫn chương trình khác.

• Tham dự các cuộc họp theo lịch trình trong suốt chương trình.

• Các công việc khác theo yêu cầu.

Vị trí Nhân viên Hậu cần:

• Chuẩn bị dụng cụ, công cụ cho các hoạt động của trại hè: bao gồm mua vật liệu, thuê thiết bị, in ấn, …

• Quản lý và điều chỉnh việc giao và nhận dụng cụ, thiết bị, các công cụ khác phục vụ cho mỗi hoạt động của trại hè.

• Phối hợp thông tin liên lạc với Giám đốc trại hè, quản trại và các nhân viên trại hè trong quá trình chuẩn bị cho mỗi hoạt động của trại hè.

• Ứng biến và giải quyết các tình huống phát sinh trong quá trình chuẩn bị cho mỗi hoạt động của trại hè.

• Đề xuất sáng kiến và giải pháp để tăng tính hiệu quả của công việc.

• Tham dự các cuộc họp theo lịch trình trong suốt chương trình.

• Thực hiện các nhiệm vụ khác theo phân công.

 

Chúng tôi đang tìm kiếm ứng viên như thế nào?

Các ứng viên phải:

Vị trí Dẫn chương trình (MC):

• Thành thạo tiếng Anh (Ưu tiên các bạn tiếng Anh tốt)

• Có kinh nghiệm dẫn chương trình trong các sự kiện lớn, đặc biệt dẫn chương trình bằng tiếng Anh

• Có khiếu hài hước và năng động

• Có khả năng giao lưu và tương tác với khán giả

• Có tinh thần trách nhiệm cao

• Cam kết làm việc trong suốt thời gian của chương trình

Vị trí Nhân viên Hậu cần:

• Có kinh nghiệm về công tác hậu cần trong tổ chức sự kiện

• Nhanh nhẹn, khỏe mạnh và năng động

• Có kỹ năng giao tiếp và kỹ năng làm việc nhóm tốt

• Có khả năng thực hiện nhiều nhiệm vụ đồng thời và có khả năng suy nghĩ và hành động linh hoạt trong mọi hoàn cảnh

• Có tinh thần trách nhiệm cao

• Cam kết làm việc trong suốt thời gian của chương trình

• Tiếng Anh tốt là một lợi thế
